There’s nothing better than a cold, refreshing drink on a hot day, and this Iced Blueberry Green Tea is one of my favorites!
It’s slightly sweet, a little tart, and packed with antioxidants from fresh blueberries and green tea.
Plus, it’s super easy to make and way better than anything you’d get at a coffee shop.
You can sweeten it to your liking, make it in advance, and even turn it into a fun fizzy drink.
Let’s get into it!
What You’ll Need
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 2 green tea bags
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 2 tbsp honey (or sweetener of choice)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Tools:
- Small saucepan
- Heatproof measuring cup or bowl
- Fine mesh strainer
- Wooden spoon
- Pitcher
- Glasses for serving

Pro Tips for the Best Iced Blueberry Green Tea
- Adjust the Sweetness – Start with 2 tbsp of honey, but taste before chilling. You can always add more later!
- Muddle for More Flavor – Gently mash the blueberries while simmering for a stronger blueberry taste.
- Use Fresh or Frozen Berries – Both work! If using frozen, no need to thaw—just simmer a bit longer.
- Chill Completely – The tea tastes best when it’s ice-cold, so give it time in the fridge before serving.
- Make It Sparkling – Add a splash of sparkling water before serving for a fizzy twist!
How to Make Iced Blueberry Green Tea
Step 1: Simmer the Blueberries
In a small saucepan, add 1 cup of fresh blueberries, 2 tbsp honey, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries burst and release their juices (about 5 minutes).

Step 2: Strain the Blueberry Mixture
Remove from heat and pour the blueberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof measuring cup or bowl. Press down on the berries with a spoon to extract all the juice. Discard the solids.

Step 3: Brew the Green Tea
Bring 3 cups of water to a boil, then remove from heat. Add 2 green tea bags and let them steep for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool slightly.

Step 4: Mix Everything Together
In a large pitcher, combine the strained blueberry juice, brewed green tea, and 1 tbsp of lemon juice. Stir well and let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour.

Step 5: Serve Over Ice
Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled blueberry green tea over them, and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Substitutions & Variations
- Swap the Honey – Use agave, maple syrup, or sugar instead.
- Try Different Berries – Raspberries or blackberries work great too!
- Make it Caffeine-Free – Use herbal tea like chamomile instead of green tea.
- Add More Citrus – A squeeze of orange juice can brighten the flavors even more.
Make-Ahead Tips
- Brew the tea and make the blueberry syrup ahead of time, then store them in the fridge separately for up to 3 days.
- For quick serving, mix everything together just before pouring over ice.
Leftovers & Storage
- Store leftover tea in a covered pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Shake or stir before serving, as natural separation may occur.
- Avoid freezing, as it can change the texture of the tea.
